Bhel Puri!

Quick and easy to prepare, Bhel Puri is the ideal Indian snack.

It is a tasty and tangy dish made from puffed rice to which many delectable titbits are added.

 

2 Kinds of Bhel:

  • Wet Bhel Puri
  • Dry Bhel Puri




Ingredients:

  • Puffed Rice
  • Sev
  • Peanuts
  • Roasted Chanal Dal
  • Bundi
  • Papdi
  • Vegetables- tomatoes, potatoes, onions, chillies, lemon and coriander
  • Meeshna Chat Masala

Recipe:

All you need to Prepare:

  • Roast the peanuts in a large pan
  • Wash and boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker
  • Finely chop onions, tomatoes, green chillies and coriander leaves
  • Prepare tamarind, mint and coriander leaves and garlic chutneys

 

Steps to make Wet/Dry Bhel Puri:

  1. Take puffed rice in a large bowl. Add 5-6 pieces of namkeen papdi, which can be crushed (optional)
  2. Add roasted peanuts, boondi (optional), roasted chana dal and sev
  3. Add boiled potato, finely chopped tomatoes, onions and chillies
  4. Add all the chutneys- tamarind, mint and coriander leaves, and garlic, as per taste. Skip this step if you are making a Dry Bhel Puri
  5. Add Meeshna Chat Masala
  6. Squeeze lemon juice for tanginess
  7. Mix all the ingredients well
  8. Garnish the Bhel with finely chopped coriander leaves

Your Bhel Puri is ready to serve!

**Meeshna Chat Masala can be used in Indian street foods like Sev Puri, Dahi Puri, Ragda Puri. It can also be sprinkled on cut fruits- apple, pineapple, watermelon and pear.
