Pav Bhaji
Know your Dish
Pav Bhaji is the king of Indian street foods. It is a spicy mix of smashed veggies, which is usually accompanied by toasted buns/pav.
This dish was crafted to provide the required nutrition from the vegetables to the workforce of the budding textile industry in Mumbai.
Tastes Best With:
Toasted pav in butter and a heap of finely chopped onions garnered with lemon and salt
Ingredients:
- Butter
- Vegetables- tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, capsicum, green peas, cauliflower, lemon and coriander
- Salt
- Meeshna Pav Bhaji Masala
- Meeshna Turmeric Powder
- Meeshna Chilli Powder
- Meeshna Garam Masala

All you need to Prepare:
- Finely chop onions, tomatoes, onions, capsicum
- Prepare ginger garlic paste
- Boil potatoes, cauliflower and green peas in a pressure cooker until mushy (4-5 whistles)
- Toast the pav in butter
Steps to make Bhaji of the Pav Bhaji:
- Take a large pan and heat butter
- Add ginger garlic paste
- Add finely chopped onions until they turn translucent
- Add finely chopped capsicum
- Add tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy. You can also use a smasher to soften the veggies.
- Add the boiled mixture of potatoes, cauliflower and green peas
- Mix the veggies well
- Add water as per required consistency
- Add salt, Meeshna Turmeric Powder, Meeshna Chilli Powder, Meeshna Garam Masala (if you want your bhaji to be a little stronger in taste) and Meeshna Pav Bhaji Masala
- Squeeze in some lemon juice
- Let it cook for 10 minutes. Keep on stirring the bhaji with the help of a smasher.
- Garnish the bhaji with finely chopped coriander leaves
Your Pav Bhaji is ready to serve!
